CIS seeks an experienced candidate for the position of Director of Enrolment Management. The director will facilitate the collaborative development of the school’s short-term and long-term enrolment strategies. They will also manage several service-oriented teams. This position would be suitable for a diplomatic, entrepreneurial leader with extensive enrolment management experience in top-tier international schools. They must be comfortable leading and working through ongoing design thinking exercises to improve the programs and systems that support CIS students, parents and staff. They must be adept at coaching, modifying business systems and working in high-context cultures. Extremely polished written and verbal communication skills are essential. An advanced degree in marketing, business administration or a related field is preferred. Affiliation with the EMA or similar enrolment management body is expected. CIS recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. As an IB World School, we are delivering the IBDP and are working to become an IB PYP candidate school. CIS has almost 1,000 students and we’re growing steadily! The school is focused on managing growth strategically and with attention to quality programs and services. The successful candidate will join a positive, solutions-focused group of team leaders committed to continuous school improvement. The position of Director of Enrolment Management is a new role. An immediate start is preferred, however an August start date is possible. Candidates should indicate their preferred start date in their covering letter.

The Director of Enrolment Management develops and implements a schoolwide enrolment management program that integrates the eight levers in the strategic enrollment spectrum established by the Enrollment Management Association. This includes our school purpose, values and brand; institutional strategy; culture and belonging; student programs and outcomes; family engagement and retention; marketing, recruitment, selection and onboarding of new families; and tuition and financial strategies. They are directly involved in the work of the teams they supervise, specifically Admissions, Translation-Interpretation, Parent Relations, Communications, and Digital Advertising and Events. The director reports to the Head of School and collaborates closely with the Director of Student Services, Athletics Director, Senior Director of Student Life, Campus Development Director and principals.

DUTY & RESPONSIBILITY‍

- Collaboratively develop and implement a comprehensive strategic enrolment management plan that reflects the school’s brand identity and that enhances recruitment, retention, revenue generation and parent engagement.
- Communicate the enrolment management plan to all staff and facilitate implementation among stakeholders.
- Manage the Admissions Team, Parent Relations Team, Translation-Interpretation Team, Communications Team, and the Digital Advertising and Events Team, overseeing daily work, revising business systems, planning, budgeting and line management.
- Participate in regular school evaluation processes, including surveys and on-site visits, required by Alberta Education, International Baccalaureate Organization and the Council of International Schools.
- Consolidate school-wide data, related to admissions and other teams, to enable data-informed decisions in own functional areas and by the school leadership.
- Remain informed and advise the Head of School on trends in the international school sector.
- Present plans and progress reports at meetings of the board of directors.
- Articulate the school’s value proposition through networking opportunities, and build strategic local and international corporate partnerships to support enrolment.

QUALIFICATION

- Bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, journalism, educational leadership, marketing or related field.
- At least 5 years of senior management-level communications, PR or marketing experience, ideally in top-tier international schools.
- Experience working with diverse communities and in high-context cultures essential.
- Experience managing multicultural teams essential.
- Proven track record in developing and executing a student recruitment plan to achieve the annual enrolment goals.
- Proficiency in English.
- Polished, diplomatic communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of revenue-based enrolment management.
- Demonstrated strategic and long-range planning skills.
- Understanding of current trends in the international school sector with skills to translate understanding into successful enrolment management plans.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate at all levels.
- Proficiency in managing and analyzing large amounts of data, presenting outcomes of data analysis in a logical manner, and utilizing this information to make data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrated success in process management and process improvement.
