I. Job Summary
Geo-Resource & Mining Engineer specializing in exploration is a professional who applies their knowledge of geological and mineralogical principles to locate and evaluate mineral deposits.

II. Duties & Responsibilities
• Geo-resource Exploration: Conducting field studies to analyze geological structures and mineral formations. This involves using advanced geophysical and geochemical methods to identify promising areas for mineral extraction.
• Data Analysis: Analyze geoscientific data to determine the best methods of reaching valuable resources.
• Resource Estimation: Estimate the size and quality of mineral deposits using data from geophysical surveys, drilling, and geochemical tests.
• Drilling Operation: Conduct drilling operations to obtain samples and data needed to evaluate the geological and geophysical information of a potential mining site.
• Collaboration with Geoscientists: Work closely with geologists, geophysicists, and other specialists to understand the geologic formation of the earth where minerals are found.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that exploration activities are in compliance with government regulations and environmental standards.
• Surveying: Using surveying equipment and software to map the geological features of a site. This includes creating detailed maps and models that can guide the extraction process.
• Reporting: Preparing detailed reports on the potential viability of mining operations. These reports include information on estimated mineral reserves, extraction costs, and environmental impact.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in mining technology and changing regulations.
• Other task will be assigned by the Line Manager.

III. Qualifications, Experience & Skills
• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geo-Resource & Geo-Technical Engineer or a related field is typically required.
• Experience: Depending on the level of the position, some amount of relevant work experience in the mining industry may be required. This could include experience in internships, cooperative engineering programs, or entry-level positions.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using industry-specific software and technology for mine design and planning, such as AutoCAD, Vulcan, Surpac, or similar.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of mining operations, geology, mineral processing, and mine safety regulations. Knowledge of environmental regulations and practices is also important.
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to solve complex engineering problems using principles of engineering, mathematics, and science.
