Duties and Responsibilities of QS Purchasing
Cost Estimation and Budget Control
Prepare cost estimates for materials, equipment, and subcontract works.
Monitor project budgets and control costs to ensure cost efficiency.
Procurement and Purchasing
Source suppliers and obtain quotations.
Compare prices, quality, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of materials.
Contract and Supplier Management
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
Assist in preparing and reviewing contracts and agreements.
Maintain good relationships with vendors and monitor supplier performance.
Quantity Take-Off and Material Planning
Measure quantities from drawings and specifications.
Prepare material schedules and procurement plans based on project requirements.
Cost Analysis and Reporting
Track material costs and procurement expenditures.
Prepare cost reports and purchasing status updates for management.
Inventory and Delivery Coordination
Coordinate material deliveries to project sites.
Monitor stock levels and prevent shortages or excess inventory.
Documentation and Compliance
Maintain procurement records, quotations, purchase orders, and contracts.
Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and project requirements.
Project Coordination
Work closely with project managers, engineers, site teams, and suppliers.
Resolve procurement issues that may affect project progress.
