Finance Manager – Tsutaya Cambodia

Main Responsibilities
1. Accounting and Bookkeeping
* Oversee all accounting functions: A/R, A/P, general ledger, fixed assets, taxation, inventory, and monthly closing. * Develop accounting workflows, internal controls, and accounting policies. * Review balance sheets and prepare supporting schedules for fixed assets, receivables, prepayments, payables, accrued expenses, and inter-company accounts.
2. Cash Management**
* Monitor daily cash handling, including POS opening/closing, deposits, and floats. * Reconcile cash receipts with sales reports. * Ensure safekeeping of cash and banking documents.
3. Sales Reconciliation / Audit**
* Verify sales records match cash/card transactions. * Investigate and resolve discrepancies (e.g., shortages, overages). * Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
4. Banking Management**
* Handle bank deposits, change orders, floats, and POS terminal issues. * Ensure timely banking and daily cheque deposits.
5. Inventory & Cost Control**
* Collaborate with operations and merchandising to manage stock and costs. * Support inventory counting and investigate stock discrepancies. * Analyze inventory aging and reduce slow-moving items.
6. Business Analysis & Financial Insight**
**Gross Margin Analysis** * Compare sales revenue vs. COGS. * Monitor trends by category/location and suggest improvements.
**Sales & Profitability Analysis** * Analyze sales by product or promotion. * Evaluate the success of sales campaigns and discount strategies.
**Cost Management** * Monitor expenses (rent, royalties, utilities, labor). * Recommend cost-saving measures.
**Budgeting & Forecasting** * Prepare budgets and sales forecasts based on trends.
**KPI & Performance Monitoring** Track and report key metrics: * Gross Margin % * Sales per Square Meter * Average Transaction Value * Number of Transactions * Stock Turnover Rate
7. Financial Reporting** * Compile reports: sales summaries, P &L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analyses. * Provide data for internal decision-making, franchisors, and mall operators.
8. Audit Support** * Prepare audit documentation and support internal/external audits. * Implement control improvements based on audit findings.
9. Leadership & Team Management** * Recruit, coach, and lead the accounting team. * Promote knowledge sharing and talent development. * Oversee accounting system setup. * Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements** * Cambodian national only. * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. * CPA, ACCA, or CA qualification (or currently pursuing) preferred. * 5–10 years of relevant experience, ideally in inventory or logistics. * Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel is an advantage). * Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills. * Knowledge of Cambodian finance and tax laws required. * Experience in fast-paced, dynamic work environments. * Fluent in English; additional language skills (Japanese, Mandarin) are a plus.
